Dallas, TX – Woman Attacked By 3 Pit Bulls At Beckley Heights Park
Dallas, TX (November 17, 2019) A woman was attacked by three pit bulls on the morning of November 15th. According to reports, the pit bulls dug under a fence and escaped their home at about 11:20 a.m. They attacked a 76-year-old woman who was walking in Beckley Heights Park.
Two men saw the dogs mauling the woman and attempted to stop them. One of the men ended using his pickup truck to get the dogs off of her and the other man used a pole.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found the woman seriously injured and rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. She has been listed in critical condition.
The Dallas Animal Services took the dogs while the police arrested the owner and charged her with attack by dog causing serious bodily injury, which is a third-degree felony.
Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her family at this time. We wish her a complete recovery.
Dog Bites in Texas
Unfortunately, dog bite accidents occur more frequently than they should and are considered personal injury cases. Victims who are attacked by dogs have at least two years from the incident to file a lawsuit in order to be compensated for their injuries and more. Dog owners are completely responsible for the actions of their dogs and may face prison time and fines depending on how badly their dog attacks someone.
At The Benton Law Firm, our experienced Texas dog bite attorneys specialize in helping victims bring their claims to civil court after a brutal attack. We believe injured victims should be fully compensated for all injuries, time off of work, and more.
