Lufkin, TX – Linda Cortines Killed in TX-287 Loop Crash
Lufkin, TX (November 28, 2019) – The woman struck and killed on TX-287 Loop has been identified by police.
At approximately 12:10 a.m., on November 26, authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on TX-287 Loop.
According to reports, 65-year-old Linda Cortines was attempting to cross the roadway, near the intersection of Frank Avenue, when she was struck by a motor vehicle.
Cortines was injured in the crash and rushed to a hospital in Lufkin where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Matthew Battise, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this time, police are investigating.
