Houston, TX – Second Victim Killed in Gulf Freeway Crash Identified

Houston, TX (December 6, 2019) – The second victim struck and killed by a drunk driver on the Gulf Freeway has been identified by police.

At approximately 1:10 a.m., on November 23rd, authorities responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on the Gulf Freeway.

According to reports, an individual was traveling down the freeway when their Nissan Versa stalled out in the HOV lanes. After coming to rest, the vehicle was struck by a Nissan Altima.

As both drivers exited their vehicles to exchange insurance information. While on the roadway, they were struck by 27-year-old Lupe Longoria in a Toyota CHR.

One victim was declared deceased on the scene while the second victim was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities have now identified both men killed in this collision as Fernando Gonzalez and Jesse Kuykendall.

Longoria was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
