Austin, TX – Cody Allen Faust ID’d as TX-71 Crash Victim

Austin, TX (December 11, 2019) – The victim killed in a collision on State Highway 71 has been identified by police.

On December 6, at approximately 6:52 a.m., authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 8700 block of State Highway 71. According to reports, 27-year-old Cody Allen Faust was traveling east along the highway in a 2020 Toyota Camry when his vehicle was struck head-on by a white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Faust was injured in the collision and rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas. Sadly, Faust succumbed to his injuries just a few hours after arriving.

The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as a passenger inside the Toyota, were transported to an area hospital for treatment to injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
