Cherokee County, TX – Lanika Michelle Russell Struck & Killed on FM 346
Cherokee County, TX (December 11, 2019) – A pedestrian accident claimed one woman’s life on Sunday.
On December 8, authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Farm to Market Road 346. Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety indicate that around 10:08 p.m., a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 was being pushed by a driver and passenger in the southbound lanes of Farm to Market Road 346.
At the same time, 24-year-old Dakota Aaron Kinnett was traveling south along the roadway. Kinnett did not see the Chevrolet until he approached the vehicle in the roadway. Kinnett swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting the truck. Unfortunately, he struck one of the individuals pushing the vehicle.
The individual, who was identified as 35-year-old Lanika Michelle Russell, was rushed to a Tyler hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
