Irving, TX – 1 Person Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on TX-183

Irving, TX (December 11, 2019) – A motor vehicle accident on State Highway 183 claimed one victim’s life on Tuesday.

On December 10, the Irving Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on TX-183. According to reports, at approximately 7 p.m., a city vehicle was parked along the shoulder of the roadway, in the area of North O’Connor Road, assisting a stranded motorist. As the two vehicles sat along the roadway, they were struck by a drunk driver.

The impact of the collision caused a major disturbance in the roadway, resulting in a second vehicle striking the vehicles along the side of the road.

One person involved in the collision incurred fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle that crashed was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
