Austin, TX – Woman Injured in Rio Grande St Parking Lot Accident

Austin, TX (December 12, 2019) – A parking lot accident left one woman injured.

On December 7, authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Rio Grande Street.

Reports from police indicate that a woman and her friend were leaving Premier Parking, which is a garage located at 598 Rio Grande Street, when a vehicle sped through the garage and struck her.

Several individuals at the scene attempted to stop the male driver, who fled the scene of the accident.

The woman was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

After a short period, police were able to apprehend the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as 30-year-old Benjamin Fletcher. Fletcher was arrested and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, two counts of accident involving injury, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of evading arrest.

Police are currently investigating.
