Corpus Christi, TX – Woman Injured In Pedestrian Accident On Baldwin Blvd
Corpus Christi, TX (December 14, 2019) A pedestrian accident occurred in the early evening of December 13th. The police reported that a vehicle struck an elderly woman as she was crossing the street with her granddaughter. The granddaughter made it to the crosswalk just before an SUV made a left and hit her grandmother. The accident happened on Baldwin Boulevard at about 4:45 p.m.
Emergency responders arrived and found the grandmother suffering from injuries and rushed her to the nearest hospital for treatment.
The police are still investigating the accident. The driver remained at the scene and claimed she did not see the woman due to the sunset.
Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her family at this time. We wish her a full recovery.
Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
The Texas Department of Transportation confirms that an average of 500 fatal pedestrian accidents occur annually throughout Texas. Most pedestrian accidents are caused by distracted driving, speed, drunk driving, aggressive driving, and fatigued driving. Unfortunately, when drivers fail to always check for pedestrians, they risk accidentally taking someone’s life or leaving them severely injured.
At The Benton Law Firm, we believe that if negligent drivers cause pedestrian accidents, they should be held financially responsible for all injuries and other damages.
