Corpus Christi, TX – 2 Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on 5th St
Corpus Christi, TX (December 15, 2019) On the afternoon of December 15th, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of 5th Street and Morgan Avenue. According to reports, a speeding vehicle rear-ended a red sedan, which caused the sedan to roll over about three times before stopping.
The fire department arrived and had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate two occupants inside of the red sedan. The paramedics then transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene on foot and tried to hide in a nearby neighborhood. Authorities found the culprit and arrested him.
The accident is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the two injured victims and their families at this time. We wish them a complete recovery.
Vehicle Collisions in Texas
Studies show that speed is the leading cause of most vehicle collisions in Texas. Most of the time drivers speed when they are in a rush to get to their destination, under the influence, or have road rage. When drivers fail to abide by speed limits, they risk accidentally rear-ending other vehicles and causing other serious injuries.
At The Benton Law Firm, we believe drivers who fail to follow traffic laws should be held financially responsible for all of the accidents they cause. Injured victims should not be paying for their injuries if they were not at fault for the crash.
