El Paso, TX – 2 Injured in Crash on Gateway Blvd East

El Paso, TX (January 1, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Gateway East sent two victims to area hospitals with injuries.

Just after 10:35 a.m., on December 31, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports from police indicate that 50-year-old Rene Diaz was traveling north on Lomaland Drive when his vehicle collided with an unmarked police car at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard East after he ran a red light at the intersection.

The driver and the passenger inside the police vehicle were both injured in the collision. Both victims were transported to an area hospital with injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
