San Antonio, TX – Fred Jolayemi Killed in Crash on I-10
San Antonio, TX (January 3, 2020) – At approximately 3:20 a.m., on December 22nd, authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 10. Reports from authorities indicate that 36-year-old Fred Jolayemi was traveling along the roadway with his family when their vehicle stalled out on the freeway.
A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene and loaded the young child inside his vehicle as they waited for a tow truck to arrive. The officer and the couple stood next to the vehicle waiting.
After a short period, 30-year-old Natalie Saldana, who was impaired, struck the patrol car, causing it to roll over and land on top of Jolayemi and his wife.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and pulled both Jolayemi and his wife from beneath the vehicle. Both victims were rushed to area hospitals. Fred Jolayemi succumbed to his injuries on December 24th.
Saldana was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Fred Jolayemi. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
