Harris County, TX – 4 Injured in DUI Accident on Rankin Rd
Harris County, TX (January 5, 2020) On the early morning of January 5th, a drunk driver refused to pull over for authorities and caused a police chase. The drunk driver was in the wrong lane speeding down Rankin Road for 10 minutes before colliding with a truck near the North Freeway.
The police caught and arrested the two occupants inside of the vehicle that led them on a chase. They also called other emergency crews to assist the family of four inside of the truck. The paramedics transported the four injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the four injured family members at this time. We wish them a complete recovery.
Head-On Collisions in Texas
Studies confirm that distracted and drunk driving are the top reasons why drivers travel in the wrong direction. Under these circumstances, drivers will often enter a highway exit ramp or drive in the opposite direction of traffic on a regular street. When drivers are intoxicated, they are more likely to break laws and attempt to flee from authorities due to their inability to think rationally. Because they put themselves and others in danger when they drive recklessly, drunk drivers should be held financially liable for any damages caused by their negligent actions.
At The Benton Law Firm, we help injured victims file personal injury lawsuits against drunk drivers after being harmed in collisions. We work hard to make sure innocent injured victims don’t have to self-pay for medical expenses and other damages.
