Leander, TX – Dane Benjamin Killed in Motorcycle Accident on 183A Toll Rd
Leander, TX (January 5, 2020) On the evening of January 5th, a motorcycle accident happened in the 6400 block of the 183A toll road. According to reports, the accident happened at around 6:30 p.m. When the police arrived, a pickup truck was stopped in the median and a motorcycle was lying in the roadway.
The paramedics tended to the injured motorcyclist and then rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, he did not survive despite immediate medical care. He has been identified as 45-year-old Dane Benjamin Hone.
The accident is still under investigation, but authorities believe that the truck hit the median first, which caused major debris. They believe Hone may have hit the debris before ejecting onto the roadway.
We send our condolences to the family of Dane Benjamin Hone. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
Thousands of motorcyclists lose their lives in collisions every year throughout Texas. Most motorcycle accidents result from drivers not checking their surroundings before it’s too late and accidentally switching lanes or turning in front of motorcyclists. Other times negligent drivers crash and cause various debris and auto parts to land in the road, which cause riders to strike and eject off of their bikes.
No matter the cause, if motorcyclists lose their lives in collisions they were not at fault for, their immediate family members may be able to file wrongful death lawsuits to receive compensation for the cost of the accident, funeral, and much more. At The Benton Law Firm, we help families with this process and have succeeded for nearly two decades.
