Wood County, TX – Anna Ruth Bates & 7-month Old Child Killed in TX-37 Crash
Wood County, TX (January 6, 2020) – A second victim injured in the State Highway 37 collision has died.
On January 2, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Texas Highway 37. Reports from police indicate that 46-year-old Anna Ruth Bates was traveling north along the highway when 24-year-old Kaylie Michelle Hasten cross over the center lines of the roadway and struck Bates’ vehicle head-on.
Sadly, Bates was declared deceased at the scene. Ms. Bates’ passengers, including her 6-year-old daughter, and her 4-year-old and 7-month old grandchildren, were all injured and rushed to area hospitals.
Hasten, as well as a 1-year-old female in her vehicle, were both injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the 7-month old child succumbed to their injuries on January 3.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
