UPDATE: Lubbock, TX – Victims Involved in I-27 Collision ID’d by Police

Lubbock, TX (January 13, 2020) – Police have identified the victims killed and injured in the Interstate 27 collision.

Just after 8:30 a.m., on January 11, authorities were called to a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 27 near Drew Street. While assisting the victims, another vehicle passed through and struck two firefighters and a police officer.

The police officer, who was identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Reyna, sustained fatal injuries and was immediately declared deceased at the scene.

Both firefighters, who were identified as 39-year-old David Hill and 30-year-old Matthew Dawson, were rushed to area hospitals for treatment. Sadly, Hill was declared deceased at the hospital.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
