Del Valle, TX – Victims Involved in TX-71 Collision Identified
Del Valle, TX (January 21, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on State Highway 71 claimed two victims’ lives and left one with injuries.
At around 10 a.m., on January 19, authorities were called to the scene of a collision in the 5000 block of Texas Highway 71. Reports indicate that 20-year-old Joseph Diaz was traveling west on the highway when his vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Richards Drive.
The driver of the second vehicle, who was identified as 49-year-old Jose Velazquez, and his passenger, 45-year-old Joanne Menchaca, both sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased at the scene.
Diaz was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
