Forney, TX – 2 Women Killed in DUI Crash on US-80

Forney, TX (January 21, 2020) – A drunk driver caused a horrific collision on Monday that claimed the lives of two.

On January 20, at around 10:51 a.m., emergency crews in Forney were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 80. Reports from police indicate that a drunk driver, who was identified as 61-year-old Royce Freebourn, was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway when his Land Rover struck a Ford Focus near the Gateway Boulevard bridge after running a stop sign.

Both vehicles burst into flames after the collision.

Two individuals inside the Ford, who were identified as Margarita Bottello and Yazmin Villagomez Martinez, were both killed in the collision.

Freebourn was transported to Baylor, Scott & White for treatment.

Police are currently investigating.
