Austin, TX – 1 Killed & 1 Injured in W Cesar Chavez St Crash

Austin, TX (January 23, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Wednesday claimed one person’s life and left a second victim injured.

At around 8:24 p.m., on January 22, authorities were called to the scene of a collision in the 1000 block of West Cesar Chavez Street. Reports indicate that a two-vehicle collision occurred along the roadway near the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail.

One driver was trapped inside their vehicle and declared deceased at the scene.

The second driver, who was identified as a male in his 30s, was trapped in his vehicle. Authorities had to extricate the victim before transporting him to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment.

At this time, police are investigating.
