Irving, TX – 1 Killed In Car Accident On West Airport Fwy
Irving, TX (January 25, 2020) – On the night of January 24th, an SUV rear-ended the back of a vehicle that was occupied by a family of five. The car was stalled in an express lane in the 800 block of West Airport Freeway right before it was hit. The accident occurred between Industrial Boulevard and Main Street.
When emergency crews arrived to assist the family, they found a 4-year-old child critically injured, along with his mother. The two were rushed to a nearby hospital, but the child did not survive his injuries. He died at around 9:40 p.m. A 6-year-old child was also injured and rushed to the hospital, but reports confirmed that he was in stable condition.
The accident is still under investigation by authorities.
We send our condolences to the family of the 4-year-old child. Our thoughts are with them at this time. We also hope the other two injured victims make a full and complete recovery.
Vehicle Collisions in Texas
Studies show that car accidents are the leading cause of child fatalities in the United States. Between 2010 and 2014, an average of 11 children lost their lives in vehicle collisions every week throughout the country. Most fatal accidents are preventable since the leading cause is often negligence, which is why drivers who cause these accidents should be held financially liable for all damages and losses.
When parents lose their children in accidents caused by others, they have the right to file wrongful death lawsuits against all liable parties. At The Benton Law Firm, we have assisted parents for years with filing lawsuits on their children’s behalves. We understand how traumatic it is to lose a child, and we don’t believe parents should be held financially responsible for accidents their children did not cause.
