9-Year-Old Daminik Lopez Killed, One Child Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on East Parmer Lane in Austin
Austin, TX. (April 9, 2020)- Daminik Lopez was killed and one other child was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on March 30, 2020. The accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the 5500 block of East Parmer Lane. Police reported that a 2009 Hummer H3 was traveling south over the eastbound lanes when the driver failed to yield the right of way to a 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML3. The Mercedes-Benz then struck the Hummer’s passenger side. Lopez and another juvenile passenger were transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas with serious injuries. Lopez succumbed to her injuries on April 4, 2020. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, and later arrested for DWI. The crash remains under investigation.
