Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Studies show that a daily nationwide average of three children lost their lives in traffic accidents in 2015. Children are often hit by cars when drivers are distracted and do not notice them in time to stop, especially late at night. Even though drivers are required to yield or completely stop for pedestrians, drivers still get distracted by cell phones, drugs, alcohol, other passengers, loud noises, as well as other distractions. Since children are small and do not have any protection against a vehicle. When they are hit by a car, they normally sustain major injuries, sometimes fatal injuries.
When parents lose their child in a pedestrian accident, they may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the responsible driver if they’re able to establish that the driver was at fault for the accident. At The Benton Law Firm, we specialize in helping parents file wrongful death lawsuits against those responsible for harming their children. Although no amount of money can replace the life of their child, we believe parents should not be held financially liable for the negligent actions of other drivers.
