18-Year-Old Chase Sowders Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on LBJ Drive in Washington County near Lake Somerville
Washington County, TX. (May 14, 2020)- Four people were Killed in a two-vehicle crash on May 9, 2020 in Washington County, Texas. The accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on LBJ Drive near Lake Somerville. DPS reported that a Ford pickup truck was traveling southbound, struck a guardrail and hit a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that was traveling northbound on the roadway. The driver of the Ford was transported to CHI St. Joseph Health in Bryan with critical injuries. All four occupants in the Suburban were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Chase Sowders, Jasmin Maxwell, Payton Francis and Justin Richard. The crash remains under investigation.
