Police Officer Ronald Bingham Injured in DUI Crash on 7th Street in Port Arthur
Port Arthur, TX. (May 19, 2020)- Officer Ronald was injured in a pedestrian-vehicle crash on May 15, 2020 in Port Arthur, Texas. The accident occurred around 10:40 p.m. in the 5100 block of 7th Street. DPS reported that PAPD officers were investigating a loud noise disturbance when the driver of a speeding 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck hit a patrol car. The driver of the Chevrolet then lost control and struck Bingham, who was standing outside of the patrol car. The driver of the Chevrolet continued off the roadway and struck a tree. Officer Bingham was transported to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth with injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested and charged with intoxication assault. DPS continue to investigate the crash.
