48-Year-Old Leslie Paul Clanton Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on U.S. Highway 259 in Gregg County
Gregg County, TX. (May 27, 2020)- Leslie Paul Clanton was killed in a two-vehicle crash on May 23, 2020 in Gregg County, Texas. The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 259. DPS reported that Clanton was driving a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 northbound when he struck a guardrail. Clanton got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage when an oncoming 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe hit him and his truck. Clanton was hit by both his truck and the Tahoe. Clanton was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
