1-Year-Old Alice Maturino Killed, Family Seriously Injured in DUI Crash on E. Northwest Highway and Shiloh Road in Dallas

Dallas, TX. (May 29, 2020)- Alice Maturino was killed, and three others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on May 23, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. The accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the E. Northwest Highway and Shiloh Road intersection. Police reported that the driver of a Nissan SUV ran a red light while driving at a high rate of speed. Police officers and a DPS helicopter began to pursue the driver. The officers stopped the pursuit due to safety reasons, and the driver continued speeding down the roadway. The driver then ran another red light and crashed into a Ford Mustang driven by Hugo Alberto-Maturino at the intersection. Alice Maturino was ejected from the Mustang. Alice, her 2-year-old brother Cole, her mother Miriam Minaya and her father Hugo were transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Alice later succumbed to her injuries. The three other family members remain in critical condition. The driver and passenger of the Nissan fled the scene on foot. They were later located and arrested. The Nissan driver is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter, three counts of intoxication assault and evading arrest with a vehicle causing death of another. The Nissan passenger was charged with evading arrest. The crash remains under investigation.
