Five Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Ellen Trout Drive and Sayers Street in Lufkin
Lufkin, TX. (October 7, 2020)- Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on October 1, 2020 in Lufkin, Texas. The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the Ellen Trout Drive and Sayers Street intersection. Police reported that the driver Hyundai Sonata was attempting to cross the intersection when it was T-boned by an eastbound Toyota 4Runner. The impact caused the Toyota to roll over. The Sonata veered off the roadway, traveled through a tree-line and crashed into a creek. One passenger in the Sonata was airlifted to UT Heath Center in Tyler with serious injuries. The Sonata diver and a second passenger were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The Toyota driver and passenger were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
