39-Year-Old Melissa Josefa Diaz Killed in Head-On Crash on State Highway 359 in Jim Wells County

Jim Wells County, TX. (June 8, 2021)- Melissa Josefa Diaz was killed in a two-vehicle crash on June 3, 2021 in Jim Wells County, Texas. The accident occurred shortly before 6:45 p.m. on State Highway 359, eight miles north of Alice, Texas. Police reported that Diaz was traveling southwest in a Jeep Commander while a Ford F-150 was traveling northeast. The Ford then failed to maintain a single lane, veered into the southeast lane and crashed head-on into Diaz. Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
