James Everett Killed in 18-Wheeler Crash on U.S Highway 385 and Mercer Road in Odessa
Odessa, TX. (August 25, 2021)- James Everett was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on August 23, 2021 in Odessa, Texas. The accident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. at the U.S. Highway 385 and Mercer Road intersection. Police reported that the driver of an 18-wheeler did not have their trailer lights plugged in when they stopped in the median and blocked northbound lanes. A Chevrolet Silverado then collided with the trailer. A Jeep Grand Cherokee also collided with the trailer. Everett, the driver of the Silverado, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was charged with negligent homicide, possession of a controlled substance and falsification of drug test results. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
