Clyde Thompson and Tonysha Smith Killed in Head-On Crash on South Martin Luther King Junior Parkway in Beaumont
Beaumont TX, (November 11, 2021)- 19-year-old Clyde Thompson and 19-year-old Tonysha Lashay Smith were killed in a two-vehicle crash on November 6, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. The accident occurred just after 2:00 a.m. in the 2400 block of South Martin Luther King Junior Parkway. Police reported that the driver of a southbound Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling in the northbound lanes when they crashed head-on into a Nissan Altima driven by Thompson. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith, a passenger in the Nissan, was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The diver of the Chevrolet sustained unknown injuries. It is believed that the Chevrolet driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
