Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash on Airline Drive near Gulf Bank Road in Houston
Houston, TX. (December 1, 2021)- One person was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on November 28, 2021, in Houston, Texas. The accident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Airline Drive near Gulf Bank Road. Deputies reported that the driver of a 2012 Kia Sedona struck a 2018 Ford Explorer. The Kia then jumped the curb and hit the victim who was selling flowers on the sidewalk. The driver of the Kia attempted to flee the scene on foot but was caught by an off-duty police officer who was working an extra job in the area. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the Kia has been charged with failure to stop and render aid. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
