DALLAS, TX – Two people sustained fatal injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in northeast Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.
Shortly before 4 a.m., emergency teams reported to the area of US-75 northbound and Caruth Haven Lane. This is just east of University Park.
Police say that a northbound vehicle struck a second vehicle that had become disabled in the roadway. The impact of the crash caused at least one of the vehicles to catch fire.
Authorities pronounced both drivers deceased at the scene of the collision. They identified one of the victims as 53-year-old Eric Holton. The other driver has not yet been named.
Officials closed the northbound side of US-75 for almost five hours while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the wreckage.
A full investigation is underway.
