Gregg Vargas, 36, struck by SUV in NW Lubbock, seriously hurt

LUBBOCK, TX – A truck driver sustained serious injuries Monday when a vehicle struck him along the freeway, reports everythingLubbock.

 

Emergency teams reported to the 4300 block of Loop 289 just before 10:45 a.m. This is just east of Wayland Baptist University.

 

Police say that the 76-year-old driver of an SUV struck a man who was working on his 18-wheeler along the roadway. 

 

Medics transported the victim, identified as 36-year-old Gregg Vargas, to an area hospital.

 

It’s unclear if the driver of the SUV will face charges in connection to the accident.

 

A full investigation is underway.
