HOUSTON, TX – A man sustained fatal injuries Tuesday in a collision involving two-vehicles on the southeast side of Houston, reports MyTexasDaily.Com.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Neal Street and Glenview Drive, which is just east of Houston Botanic Garden.
Police say that the 37-year-old driver of a northbound silver Lexus LS-430 was speeding when they neglected to heed a stop sign and collided with a westbound Chevy Silverado. Both vehicles rotated, and the Lexus crashed into a nearby home.
A passenger in the Lexus, identified as 48-year-old Joel Fraustro, died after transport to an area hospital.
Medics transported the driver of the Chevy to the hospital with non-critical injuries, while the driver of the Lexus ran from the scene.
Authorities later located and arrested the driver of the Lexus on unknown charges.
A full investigation is underway.
