HUDSON OAKS, TX – A woman died, and four other adults sustained injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle crash along the interstate in Hudson Oaks.

According to WFAA News 8, the incident occurred in the morning along I-20 near South Oakridge Drive, which is just southeast of Splash Kingdom Wild West.

Police say the driver of a Jeep decelerated abruptly ahead of an eastbound Honda CRV, causing the driver of the Honda to lose control of the vehicle. The Honda overturned into the westbound lane of traffic.

The impact of the accident threw the driver of the Honda and two passengers from the vehicle. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Cosme Espinoza, died at the scene.

Medics transported four passengers from the Honda to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Jeep fled on foot.

Authorities have referred to the crash as a road-range incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
