River Rhoades, 8, claimed in semi crash on US-82 near Sherman

GRAYSON CO., TX – An 8-year-old died Thursday in a collision involving two semi-trucks along the highway near Sherman, according to 12 KXII

 

The crash occurred early in the evening on the westbound side of US-82 near Bethany Road, which is near the Silo Creek RV Resort.

 

Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound 18-wheeler rear-ended another semi-truck on the highway.

 

The truck driver that caused the crash, identified as 47-year-old Robert Rhoades, went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

 

His passenger, 8-year-old River Rhoades, died at the scene of the accident.

 

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.

 

A full investigation is underway.
