SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 47-year-old man died Tuesday in a wrong-way accident along a major roadway in southeast San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Pecan Valley Drive near the Southside Lions Senior Center, which is just south of Arrid Road.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a northbound black SUV entered the southbound side of the roadway and collided head-on with the victim’s southbound silver SUV.
The driver of the southbound vehicle died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities identified him as Stephen Espino.
Medics transported the wrong-way driver to the hospital with critical injuries. No charges have been announced thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
