Morris Childers Killed, One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 94 near Eason Lake Road in Lufkin
Lufkin, TX. (October 24, 2022)- 64-year-old Morris Childers was killed, and his 11-year-old passenger was injured in a two-vehicle crash on October 7, 2022, in Lufkin, Texas. The accident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on State Highway 94 near Eason Lake Road. DPS reported that the driver of a westbound 2020 International box truck entered the eastbound lane to avoid rear-ending a turning vehicle. The box truck then crashed head-on into a 2005 Nissan passenger car occupied by the victims. Childers, the driver of the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan passenger was transported to St. Luke’s Health Memorial with unknown injuries. The drive of the box truck was also taken to St. Luke’s Health Memorial for treatment. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
