Head-on crash kills 1, hurts 4 on TX-224 in Greenville
GREENVILLE, TX – One person died, and four others were hospitalized after two cars collided on the highway in Greenville last Friday, reports Herald Banner.
The incident happened around 12:49 p.m. near the intersection of TX-224 and FM 118, which is just west of Oba Farms Animal Experience Center.
Police say that a westbound Nissan Rogue attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone and collided head on with an eastbound Mitsubishi Mirage.
Medics transported both drivers to local hospitals along with one passenger from the Nissan and one passenger from the Mitsubishi.
A second passenger from the Mitsubishi died at the scene of the accident. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
A full investigation is underway.
