Car vs. pickup collision in Denton kills 1, injures several
DENTON, TX – A woman died, and more than one person sustained injuries in a major collision Wednesday night in Denton, reports NewsRadio 1080 KRLD.
The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 380 and Cottonwood Lane, which is between Thomas J Egan Road and Old Dominion Drive.
The investigation thus far indicates that a car and pickup truck collided on the westbound side of the highway. More than one person became trapped in their vehicle and required extrication.
One of the victims died after transport via helicopter to an area hospital. Authorities identified this person as Patricia Tovar Castro.
Officials say that multiple people sustained injuries in the accident, including a child, who went to the hospital in critical condition.
A full investigation is underway.
