Fatality reported in garbage truck vs. SUV crash on SH-64 in Tyler

TYLER, TX – A 69-year-old man died Tuesday morning when a garbage truck collided with an SUV along the highway in Tyler, reports the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

The incident happened around 7:55 a.m. on SH-64 at County Road 212, which is just northwest of the Shady Oaks RV Park City.

The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of the garbage truck struck a westbound SUV after failing to yield the right of way when turning west from County Road 212 onto SH-64.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Frank Addison, was unrestrained and died at the scene of the crash.

A 43-year-old passenger in the garbage truck, identified as Kevin Graham, sustained non-critical injuries.

The driver of the garbage truck and a second passenger were unhurt in the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
