DUI driver strikes, kills pedestrian on S Buckner near Hume
DALLAS, TX – A male pedestrian died early Sunday morning after a vehicle struck him on a busy roadway in the Piedmont area of Dallas, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. near the intersection of South Buckner Boulevard and Hume Drive, which is just northeast of San Jacinto Elementary School.
Police say that the pedestrian was crossing the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk when the vehicle hit him. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The vehicle also struck a light pole after the 21-year-old drunk driver appeared to lose control. Police charged him with a DUI.
The investigation is ongoing.
