Sedan vs. pickup crash on Hwy 31 at CR-2212 in Tyler kills 1, injures 3
TYLER, TX – A two-vehicle crash along the highway in east Tyler killed a 55-year-old woman and injured another woman and her two children last Tuesday, reports KLTV 7 News.
Crews responded to the crash around 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 31 and County Road 2212, which is north of the University of Texas at Tyler.
Police say the accident involved a Chrysler 300 sedan and a Chevy Silverado. The driver of the Chrysler, identified as Mary L. Crockett, attempted to turn west on Highway 31 from northbound CR 2212. The Chrysler then struck a Chevy Silverado that was eastbound on Highway 31.
Crockett died at the scene, while medics transported the 20-year-old driver of the Chevy, a 12-year-old, and a 1-year-old to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
