Solo accident on I-635 EB near La Prada Dr in Garland kills man

GARLAND, TX – A 23-year-old man died last Saturday night after a single-vehicle crash along the interstate in northeast Dallas County, reports WFAA News 8.

Police responded to the accident early in the morning on the eastbound side of I-635 near La Prada Drive, just east of the Dallas Athletic Club in Garland.

The investigation thus far indicates that the victim lost control of his SUV before hitting more than one concrete barrier. The force of these collisions threw the man from his vehicle, and he died at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as Victor Javier Alvarez Munoz. It’s unclear if Munoz was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Officials say that inclement weather and poor road conditions may have been factors in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
