Head-on collision on TX-289 in Sherman injures adult, child
SHERMAN, TX – A wrong-way collision along the highway in Sherman injured a child and an adult on Saturday evening, reports KTEN 10.
The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the area of 2500 North State Highway 289, which is near Butler Airport and the intersection with US-82.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound vehicle entered the northbound lanes of TX-289 and crashed head-on with a northbound vehicle.
Medics transported the driver of the northbound vehicle along with a child passenger to an area hospital with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if the wrong-way driver required hospitalization, but police say their injuries were not critical.
