Wendi Gonzalez-Leon, 20, claimed in Del Valle crash
DEL VALLE, TX – A 20-year-old woman died on New Year’s Day in Del Valle when a vehicle struck her along a busy roadway, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The accident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on McAngus Road near Dr Bacon’s Avenue. This is just south of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Police say that Wendi Suzet Gonzalez-Leon was walking along McAngus when an eastbound 2005 Honda Pilot hit her.
Medics airlifted Gonzalez-Leon to an area hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the wreck.
The driver of the Honda did stop at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.
A full investigation is underway. No charges have been announced at this time.
