1 injured, 1 arrested in 2-vehicle rollover at S Broadway and W 1st in Tyler
TYLER, TX – An elderly woman was hurt Sunday morning in a two-vehicle car accident near Bergfield Park in Tyler, reports KLTV 7.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and West 1st Street, which is southwest of UT Health Tyler and CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Trauma Services.
Police say the driver of a pickup truck left the scene of a possible gunshot when officers arrived to investigate. During a brief pursuit, the pickup truck overturned after colliding with a car carrying an elderly woman.
Medics transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities arrested the driver of the pickup truck on unspecified charges.
A full investigation is underway.
