1 killed, 1 injured in head-on crash near W Little York and N Eldridge

HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way collision caused by a teen driver in northwest Houston killed one person early last Wednesday, reports abc 13.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. on West Little York Road in the area of North Eldridge Parkway, which is just north of Bear Creek Pioneers Park and west of the Sam Houston Tollway.

Police say the 16-year-old driver of a silver Honda was speeding when he entered the wrong side of West Little York Road and crashed head-on into a red Nissan.

The wrong-way driver required extrication from his vehicle before medics transported him to an area hospital.

The driver of the Nissan died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified him as George Evans.

A full investigation is underway.
