18-wheeler strikes, kills pedestrian on I-30EB in Royse City

ROYSE CITY, TX – A female pedestrian died early last Friday morning in Royse City after a semi-truck struck her along the interstate in Royse City, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened at 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-30 between Erby Campbell Boulevard and FM 548, which is just southwest of Royse City Cemetery.

The investigation indicates that the woman was likely walking in an eastbound lane of the interstate when the semi hit her. She died at the scene of the collision.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. They think she may have been a 22-year-old woman who had been reported missing from Royse City.

The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene of the accident to speak with police.

A full investigation is underway.
