2-car crash involving alleged DUI driver kills 1, injures 1 in south Dallas
DALLAS, TX – A man died, and a woman sustained critical injuries when a suspected drunk driver struck their vehicle along a busy south Dallas roadway, reports WFAA News 8.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the area of 5900 University Hills Boulevard, which is near the intersection with East Wheatland Road.
The investigation indicates that a northbound vehicle struck a southbound vehicle as the latter car attempted to turn left into a shopping center on University Hills Boulevard. The driver of the northbound vehicle was speeding at the time of the crash.
Authorities pronounced the unidentified driver of the southbound vehicle deceased at the scene.
The driver of the northbound vehicle sustained critical injuries and faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
