2 injured when vehicle collides with motorcycle officer in Bedford

BEDFORD, TX – A motorcycle police officer and a driver went to the hospital after their vehicles collided at a Bedford intersection on Friday morning, reports Bedford TX Police.

Around 7:30 a.m., a Bedford Motorcycle Officer was attempting to stop a speeding motorist with his lights and siren activated on southbound Central Dr, near the Chattanooga Dr intersection, when a driver turned onto Central Dr and that vehicle and the officer collided. Both the officer and driver of the vehicle were transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation. (2/2)

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Central Drive and Chattanooga Drive, which is north of Pipeline Road and southeast of Central Park.

The investigation thus far indicates that a vehicle struck the police officer’s motorcycle as the officer was driving southbound on Central Drive in pursuit of a speeding driver. The vehicle was turning onto Central Drive at the time of the collision.

Both the officer and the driver are expected to recover from their injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
